Look What I Finally Finished from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

 I don't often have much time to sew quilts for myself anymore.  But I did finish one recently that I am in love with.


Remember these improv blocks I was making?



I finally set them on point and made this lovely quilt.  

I did some fun, simple quilting on it.  Played around with thread color for some fun effects.

I want to make another one in hot colors now.  I certainly have enough solid scraps to make one (actually more than one)!


My initial plan was for this to be a Compassion Quilt.  But now that it is finished ...

Your Questions Answered from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

 There have been a few questions asked in the comment section that I thought I would answer in a post of their own.  I will try my best to address them here.



One of the questions I received were what size rectangle did I use for the start of these blocks.  I cut these at 4.5" x 6.5", but you can really start with whatever size works best with the scraps you are using.  Both of the light and dark floral fabric were the trimmings of a quilt backing.  I already had widths that left at least 4 ...

An Upcoming Class - Join the Fun! from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Even though I usually teach or give presentations a couple times a month, many of them are not often open to the public.  

So when I have something scheduled anyone can attend, I always like to get the word out.

(I try to list them on my Classes page but I don't always get a chance to write a post about them.)



I will be teaching my Improv Garden class in Coos Bay Oregon on Saturday April 11th.  The class will be hosted by Threads That Bind.
